This Minjerribah Futures initiative is delivering education and training opportunities on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).
‘Minjerribah Ganaba’ meaning – Place to Hear, Think and Understand; is the official name for the education exchange and training hub. Minjerribah Ganaba has been operational since August 2018.
It is bringing learners and providers together with community members and local businesses; increasing the skills and capacities of Quandamooka people and residents on the island. Additionally it is developing education and training as an economic activity coordinating, delivering and promoting the island as a destination for education and training to attract education focused visitors.
Minjerribah Ganaba is committed to being culturally respectful and ecologically sustainable.
This project aligns closely with other NSI ETS initiatives:
These projects are being carefully developed to:
- diversify and expand the current tourism industry
- expand education and training opportunities
- stimulate local business development and growth.
