Qantas Super Constellation ‘boarding soon’ in Longreach
A refurbished 1956 Qantas Super Constellation passenger aircraft has opened its doors to the public at the Qantas Founders Museum community day in Longreach.
Completed during the Year of Outback Tourism, the attraction is set to boost tourist numbers to the region when it opens during Qantas’ Centenary Celebrations in 2020.
Visitors will be able to step aboard the aircraft, sit in a recreated cabin and cockpit and learn from the interpretative displays of the aviation and cultural history of a bygone era.
The Super Constellation Interior Design project has been supported by the Queensland Government’s $10 Outback Tourism Infrastructure Fund - supporting jobs and tourism in local communities.
