Rent shelved to help startups survive
Startups in The Precinct in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley have been offered three months’ free rent by the Queensland Government to help them survive the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.
Most tenants are now working from home and can’t use the facilities for a while. The free rent will provide peace of mind and some business certainty.
Fifteen tenants, who work in sectors such as cyber security, tourism, education and agtech, will automatically have their rent shelved for April, May and June 2020.
The Queensland Chief Entrepreneur’s engagement with the tenants will continue through virtual meetings and learning sessions, and virtual roundtables with investors.
