Travello - a social network for travellers
Travelling from the comfort of your couch through Travello.
Brisbane innovator Travello has seen a significant increase in users engaging through their travel platform during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over 800,000 travellers and adventurers across the globe who use Travello are connecting and sharing their travel dreams from the comfort of their couch during lockdown.
Among the top destinations travellers are putting on their wish lists are Fraser Island, the Great Barrier Reef and Cairns.
The Travello app connects like-minded travellers from 170 countries across the globe, recommends experiences and enables users to browse and book more than 50,000 activities.
With a simple idea to connect fellow travellers, Mark Cantoni and Ryan Hanly founded the Brisbane-based company in 2015. Travello is now building its traveller experience digital marketing platform with the support of an Advance Queensland grant worth $300,000.
“Personalisation is key in travel — it really is the holy grail,” Ryan said.
“We’re utilising rich consumer data to understand the traveller and then present a curated offer to that traveller at exactly the right time,” he said.
“The ripple effect of this is more money in the tourism operator’s pockets, who will re-invest in their own business to create bigger and better experiences. Hopefully this also creates more jobs in the tourism industry and a flow on effect to other parts of the industry like accommodation and hospitality.”
The dynamic duo and their team of seven have moved into The Precinct, Queensland’s largest startup hub where they are expanding with an exciting range of customer engagement platforms that enable travel businesses to connect with their customers in-destination or around the world.
