Skybury embody the Buy Queensland approach, growing quality produce and local jobs in Mareeba, North Queensland.
Australia’s first and oldest commercial coffee plantation, SkyBury grows, roasts and packages 40 tons of coffee annually for cafes and restaurants across the country.
Just outside of Mareeba, at the northern end of the Atherton Tableland, SkyBury coffee plantation is also the largest producer of red papaya in Australia, with the sandy soils and subtropical climate providing the perfect growing conditions.
The farm today is home to three generation of McLaughlins, with founders Ian and Marion working alongside their children and grandkids, as well as employing up to 90 local staff members.
General Manager Candy McLaughlin has been recognised as an innovative farmer and an industry and community leader after being nominated for the FNQ Growers Charlie Nastasi Horticultural Farmer of the Year Award in 2019.
You can visit the family farm and taste the homegrown coffee at their farm café – one of the top visitor attractions in the Atherton Tablelands.
